Description

New March Scope Rain cover kit is designed to fix quickly and easily to your rifle scope providing a sturdy, lightweight frame that will support a clear plastic protective cover sheet (not included) the cover will protect from rain ingress to the action and bolt, when shooting in inclement weather.
The two frames are sized so that the front frame clips around the main tube body, typically 30mm or 34mm, and the rear frame around the eyepiece.
The frames have been designed to allow a clear view down range to observe the target and range flags, whilst also allowing unimpeded access to the elevation, windage and parallax adjustment knobs on the rifle scope.
Interconnecting carbon rods are provided to give additional support for a plastic cover sheet and position the frames for easy attachment to the rifle scope. Clear silicon bands are also provided that can be hooked around the bottom of the scope tube to provide additional security. The rods are supplied pre-cut to a length of 250mm but can be cut down to a shorter length depending on where your scope rings and bubble levels may be positioned.
You have the choice to cut the clear plastic longer so you can protect your ammunition/plotting sheet, the user can have a longer piece to the right or left depending on action spec/left/right handed user.
Fitting Instructions:
1- Position the two frames on your rifle scope at the desired locations. One on the forward main tube body and the other on the eyepiece tube.
2- Measure the distance from the front face of the front frame to the rear face of the rear frame. If this is less than 250mm the three interconnecting rods can be cut down to the desired length. Either a hacksaw or oscillating blade is best and then lightly sand the cut edges to remove any loose fibres or rough edges.
Warnings;
– Carbon fibre dust is an irritant. Always wear the appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE): eye protection, a dust mask, and strong disposable gloves when cutting.
– Ensure work area is well ventilated and equipped with dust extraction to collect and carbon fibre dust.
– Working with cutting tools can be dangerous. Make sure you take proper precautions whilst using them and turn off and store safely when not in use.
3- Remove the frames from the scope and insert the interconnecting rods into the mating holes in the front frame and push into place so they are flush with the rear face. Repeat the process to fit the rear frame onto the interconnecting rods.
Note: If the rods are a very tight fit then a 5mm diameter drill can be used to just open the holes in the frames to assist with assembly.
4- The enclosed Velcro tape is provided and can be cut to length to provide fixation points for a plastic cover sheet. It is suggested that you fit at least three 25mm sections of Velcro on the ends and centre of each frame. Alternatively, you can use small bulldog clips to attach the plastic sheet securely to the frames.
5- Clip the assembled Rain Cover onto the rifle scope. The included silicon bands can be passed around the underside of the scope tube and hooked onto the retaining features on the frames for added security.
