Description
We are pleased to Launch our new Superlight all Titanium rings.
These are a new and very clever design in which the full diameter of the scope body has contact with the titanium ring, when mounted correctly (see below) this will not mark or stress your scope in any way. The rings have been precisely CNC manufactured with Aircraft-grade Titanium.
We introduced these new rings for customers who have weight limits in their shooting discipline, and for shooters/hunters who want the lightest possible scope/ring/rifle combinations, ideally paired with our super compact 1-10, 1.5-15 2.25-25, and 4.5-28 scopes.
The lightest rings (30mm “ghost”) weigh 78grams in total! The 34mm 11mm height ‘standard’ rings have a total weight of 112grams. This could be the ‘make or break’ weight to allow the shooter to use a 34mm scope over a smaller zoom or 30mm scope.
The ‘Ghost’ rings are suitably named as they give the impression that the scope is floating, making it super streamlined and less likely to drag or catch on undergrowth, etc.
Mounting: PLEASE READ BEFORE MOUNTING.
Both styles of rings should be mounted the same way, firstly line up your rings against your scope and your rifle (to locate appropriate Picatinny slots) and set up the scope for the correct eye relief.
We like to space our rings evenly as wide as possible. However, please avoid the ‘bell’ of the front and rear objectives, as this will cause damage. Once you have ascertained the correct spacing cut some paper tape (masking tape) to the width of the ring top (21mm) you can go a little under to ensure the tape is not visible… Wrap the tape around the diameter of the scope body where you want the rings to sit. The masking tape does two things;
1) It creates a very good base for the rings to clamp on and it will prevent slip.
2) The tape will protect from any ring marks.
These Superlight rings are unlike any others on the market, so please take care when removing the fixing screws as the ring top can ‘ping’ off and the screws could disappear! ‘Especially the Ghost rings’ We recommend that you retain one screw on one side until the opposite side has opened. Tighten the scope base M4 Screw using a Torx T20 driver or tool.
Once the base has been fitted to the rail, the top can be fitted over the scope body and taped area. The ring top will need to be opened to fit it over the scope body, this will not harm the ring or the scope. The material is super strong and is designed for this purpose however, please take care during this process.
Once the top is fitted over the scope body you can add the screws. Do not tighten at this stage, just enough to secure the ring top to the base. In the case of the ghost ring, the ring top should be slid into the slot. See diagram and thread lock applied.
You now can Level your scope with a plumb line or our scope leveling device. Simply secure your rifle in rest and make sure it is level (bubble level on the receiver etc) then sight the scope to a target that has a hanging weight (plumb line) the vertical axis of the reticle should bisect the plumbline with the rifle level. If you have other leveling methods then please feel free to use them. Tighten the top rings (M3.5 Screw for Standard rings) with Torx T10 driver/bit (Ghost rings M4 screw T20H Torx bit) these should be tightened evenly with alternate screws Tighten to 2.5NM (see diagram)
Ghost Rings:
We also recommend applying some Loctite thread lock or similar to the area of the ring that fixes to the base (see diagram) this will guarantee that the rings will secure the scope 100%.
We have fully tested these rings on various heavy recoiling rifles and they perform extremely well.
